Due to the nature of the cancelation, we waived the cancelation policy and allowed you to rebook your stay. You called on the day of your arrival stating that your wife had to have emergency surgery. You made your original reservation in April 2022 for May 24th 2022. We realize that emergencies arise and we try to be as flexible as possible and deal with each situation as it is presented. If you do not cancel more than 14 days prior to your stay, you forfeit your deposit. We require 14 days notice to cancel or change your reservation. As we investigated this claim, this is what we have been able to discover:Īs stated on our website and when you book with us, we state we have a 14 day cancelation policy. We will be coming back to The Lakehouse Inn because of how much they care about their guests. Had we known this ahead of time, we would have stayed the whole night and waited out the storm. The most amazing part is that we also received a voicemail from Anjelica to let us know that because of the storm, all guests were allowed to stay past checkout time and even stay another night for free! What hotel or resort does that? They really care about their guests and that proves it. We decided to leave early because of the storm coming in. Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy it.
